Course Numbering/Classification System

2019-2020

Beginning in the academic year 2019-2020, the CCHS Course Number/Classification System consists of three basic elements. Taken together, they create a unique identification code for all Cañon City High School courses. The three component elements are course subject area, course description and course identifier.

Course Subject Area

These are 15 content categories each represented by a two-digit code. The course subject areas will be identified as listed below:

Course Description

Courses within a subject area are distinguished by a three-digit code. The codes are fairly general but do provided sequencing and grade-level identification (when applicable). Generally, course levels correlate with the difficulty of the course:
